Abstract
Over the last few years, distribution network losses become a great concern, and its reconfiguration has been proposed as a way to implement energy savings at almost zero cost. In this paper, an optimum reconfiguration for the distribution network using the Jaya algorithm is proposed. This method not only reduces power losses but also, improve the voltage profile. For validation of the proposed method, it is tested on an IEEE 33-Bus test network. The result of the proposed method compared to the regular load flow of the unconfigured network shows that this method is efficient in power loss reduction and voltage deviation improvement. Also, a comparison of the proposed method with some well-known methods shows its superiority.
