Abstract
On January 1, 2022, a new scoring system wasinstitutionalized for Step 1 reporting system.Being the only objective method for residencydistinction based on academic performance, Step2 CK score has become an important metric thatresidency directors now use to quickly evaluateand filter the number of program applicants. Thisnew system of assessing applicants’ performancebased on numerical score is still the same, theonly difference is transition from step 1 score tostep 2 score.
