Migración desordenada, insegura e irregular. México frente a los flujos de personas migrantes

Abstract

Since 2010, Mexico has been positioning itself as a country of transit and destination for foreigners for people from Central America, the Caribbean, South America and other regions of the world (Asia and Africa). At the same time, a series of processes have emerged on the international scene that have given rise to the Global Compact on Migration and the Pact for Refugees, which concentrate provisions that seek to guide and motivate apparently more suitable responses to the countries involved in these high-mobility scenarios migratory. These components have become an important part of the discourse of the current Mexican federal public administration (2018-2024) on the attention and management of migratory flows. However, the responses given and protected under these principles have led to a contradiction in their intervention, generating greater risk and vulnerability for migrants and refugees, thus giving rise to disorderly, insecure and irregular migration.
