Abstract
The aim of our research is to present the French cultural, industrial, scientific, gastronomic and sporting heritage throughout the world on the sample of the eponyms and to determine their meanings and etymology. Eponyms are always formed using the name of the people who created / founded / discovered / invented / established / developed / proposed / described something new and socially useful / necessary / innovative / interesting. Eponyms play an important role in the process of learning the French language.
