His research focuses on song and street culture, and his books include Vagabonds: Life on the Streets of Nineteenth-Century London, The Ballad-Singer in Georgian and Victorian London, and Napoleon and British Song. Oskar is currently working on a study of mainstream song from 1520–2020.
