Nurses caring for patients following cardiac surgery should understand the causes of stroke, risk factors, preventive measures, early recognition and treatment. A multidisciplinary approach is crucial in ensuring effective therapeutic interventions and optimising outcomes for patients who have experienced stroke following cardiac surgery.
