Starting with the case of the Latin Grammarians Collections, currently under development using the Cadmus system as part of the PRIN 2017 The Transmission of Ancient Linguistics, ERC AdG-2019 PAGES and Thesaurus dubii sermonis project (Sapienza Università di Roma 2018-von Humboldt Stiftung 2020), this article aims to reflect on the challenges posed by the markup of the critical apparatus.
