The findings indicate an increase in the biomass and abundance of certain fish species after artificial reef deployment, notably the commercially significant Mullus barbatus and Pagellus erythrinus. The artificial reef in Kitros, Pieria, with its surrounding marine protected area appears to have had a positive impact on the local fish populations over the years, suggesting that it can contribute to marine conservation and fishery enhancement.
