Abstract

This article is an excerpt from a study about the presence of LGBTQIA+ people in a public school in a national context of moral panic propagation by anti-gender offensives. During the course of the study, we came across, among school professionals, the circulation of the term bullying to name the violence experienced by LGBTQIA+ and which made it possible to articulate strategies to fight homophobia and protect its victims in the face of established fears. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were carried out with nine school teachers, coordinators and managers. The conclusions presented endorse the use of bullying as a strategy for debating topics related to sexual diversity, gender and the presence of LGBTQIA+ people in schools.
