Abstract
A distinctive feature of the microstructure of zirconium under irradiation (electron or neutron) is the coexistence of prismatic loops of different natures. It is believed that classical elastic theory cannot explain this fact. But the theory of anisotropic diffusion is also unable to do this. Note that the conclusion of EID-theory (elastic interaction
difference) is based on elastic isotropy. In our calculations in the Green's function formalism, we take into account the specific plane of the loop. It is analyzed whether a loop with a given Bürgers vector can nucleate and grow to visible sizes in a specific plane of zirconium.
