We examine neuroanatomical insights, neurotransmitter dysregulation, and the link between inflammation and mood disorders, emphasizing the complex nature of mood disturbances. Emerging evidence of altered platelet function in mood disorders and the therapeutic potential of antiplatelet agents and serotonin reuptake inhibitors are discussed. While personalized medicine holds promise, further research is needed to fully comprehend this evolving field. This review offers comprehensive insights into mood disorder diagnosis, intervention, and pathophysiology. In this review, a comprehensive literature search was conducted using databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science.
