Why we offer OHC experiences in PT education should be investigated and clear to both faculty and students. Abstract

Background and purpose: Increasingly, PT programs in the United States are providing educational experiences outside of the home country (OHC) where faculty and students engage in global health initiatives. It is important to consider that the field of global health has its historical roots in colonialism, which has led to inequities and injustice. Those who are engaged in this work must assist in reversing this colonial legacy.
