Abstract

Manganese causes a significant rise in hepatic glucokinase and hexokinase in 16-day-old suckling rats, and has an insulinomimetic effect in producing a precocious emergence of glucokinase (EC 2.7.1.2) and a rise in the low Km, kexokinases (EC 2.7.1.1) activities.
