Abstract
The Hungarian Vascular Registry has been collecting and analyzing data of vascular procedures since 2002. Joining VASCUNET of the European Society of Vascular Surgery in 2006 was a big step forward since it has become a large global cooperation in vascular research over the past 10 years. Data collected in the Hungarian Vascular Registry has greatly contributed to large research projects over the last 15 years and resulted in more than 30 publications. The Hungarian members of VASCUNET have also taken an active role in these projects. Exploring deficiences and analyzing outcomes in studies comparing differences among participating countries may have contributed to the development of vascular service in Hungary. The recently established new National Vascular Registry has the potential to play an important role in the quality improvement of vascular service in Hungary, in addition to its beneficial scientific research activity.
