This article reviews the latest literatures, focusing on technological innovations in key aspects of radiotherapy such as positioning, planning, and delivery. These include positioning fixation techniques, organ-at-risk avoidance irradiation, non-coplanar irradiation techniques, as well as organ displacement protection and image-guided adaptive techniques. It summarizes and discusses the research progress made in the protection of critical organs during pelvic tumor radiotherapy.
