Abstract

A solar laser with an active medium of Ti:Sa/Nd:YAG composite structure has been studiedfor the first time using Monte Carlo photon tracing technique. The results show that the use ofan Nd:YAG active medium in combination with Ti:Sa as a sensitizer increases its absorptionefficiency and, accordingly, leads to an increase in the laser output power by up to 25%.
