Abstract
This study examines the transformative impact of digital platforms and globalization on the portrayal of gender and social narratives in the Hindi film industry, commonly known as Bollywood. Through detailed case studies of select films and web series, including "Gully Boy," "Article 15," "Lipstick Under My Burkha," "The Lunchbox," "Sacred Games," "Delhi Crime," "Made in Heaven," and "Four More Shots Please!," this research analyzes how contemporary filmmaking techniques and global influences contribute to more diverse and realistic representations of social issues. The findings reveal that the integration of digital platforms has not only broadened the reach of Bollywood films but also necessitated a shift in narrative styles to resonate with global audiences. This study underscores the role of technical elements such as cinematography, sound design, and editing in enhancing the portrayal of gender roles and social justice, thus highlighting the evolving nature of Bollywood cinema in the digital age. Keywords: Bollywood, digital platforms, globalization, gender narratives, social issues, cinematography, sound design, Hindi film industry
