Comparing Effectiveness of Online Text-based and Video-based Material in Anesthesia with Jet Ventilation and Microlaryngeal Surgery: A Multicenter Randomized Trial

The 122 eligible students undertook 3 knowledge and skill assessments (“Pretest,” “24-hour posttest,” and “3-month posttest”). The primary outcome was the gain score after training. This was measured in 2 ways: the difference between the 24-hourposttest and Pretest scores and the difference between the 3-month posttest and Pretest scores.\nResults: The mean gain scores for Pretest and 24-hour posttest were higher in the text group with no significant difference (P = 0.347). The mean differences between the 3-month posttest and Pretest scores were higher in the text group without a significant difference (P = 0.488). The mean satisfaction score was higher in the video group.\nConclusion: Video-based e-learning training provided better satisfaction without significantly improving gain scores compared to text-based e-learning training.
