Compared with traditional echocardiographic modalities such as transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE), ICE has equivalent image quality, requires less sedation, and possesses no risk of esophageal injury. Abstract

Background. Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) is routinely used in cardiac electrophysiology and catheterization labs.
