They also experienced higher rates of thyroidectomy-specific complications such as hypocalcemia and neck hematoma. By multivariable regression, admission prior to surgery was associated with development of any complications.</div></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><div>Thyroidectomy in hospitalized patients carries an increased risk of complications.
