Abstract
The development of a semiconductor adjustable absorber in the THz will open up new possibilities for quantum information science, imaging, health, and sensing applications, particularly those that need to be portable. Here, we build a unique semiconductor nanowire metamaterial that exhibit increased absorption efficiency at various temperatures by carefully organizing and shaping the semiconductor nanowire array. This discovery paves the way for the potential development of a new generation of THz quantum detectors that operate close to room temperature and offer exceptional improved absorption for a broader variety of applications.

The Brazilian Journal of Physics is a peer-reviewed international journal published by the Brazilian Physical Society (SBF). The journal publishes new and original research results from all areas of physics, obtained in Brazil and from anywhere else in the world. Contents include theoretical, practical and experimental papers as well as high-quality review papers. Submissions should follow the generally accepted structure for journal articles with basic elements: title, abstract, introduction, results, conclusions, and references.
