Leadership transition lessons by Peloton

Abstract

I have been working at my current institution, on and off, for more than 25 years but consistently so for the past 15 years. Including some interim leaders, I am on my fifth President, seventh Provost, and 10th Chief Information Officer. I have had more than a dozen bosses myself while serving in a handful of different roles. That's a lot of change, a ton of personality, and, depending on how you look at it, a tremendous opportunity for my work life to be ripe with inconsistency and lack of continuity around leadership, organizational initiatives, and strategic planning.
