Wu's series of achievements have driven the innovative development of basic theoretical research on the liver in China, establishing it as a long-term international leader in the field of hepatobiliary surgery. Abstract
Wu Mengchao had been engaged in basic and clinical research in hepatobiliary surgery since the 1950s and is recognised as the founder and pioneer of hepatobiliary surgery in China.
