Abstract
It remains unclear whether the application of surgery to gastric cancer with peritoneal carcinomatosis prolongs survival. Twenty studies on conversion surgery were reviewed. Key points were the response to chemotherapy, complete resection, and a low tumor burden at the time of surgery. A bidirectional approach has been developed to increase the response rate.
