Abstract

Thank you for your insightful comments and constructive feedback regarding our study.

In response to your inquiry concerning potential variability in guidelines across different hospitals, we would like to clarify that all participating centres adhered to a uniform protocol throughout the study. This protocol was standardised across both tertiary and regional centres, encompassing all aspects of care, including escalation management. The uniform guidelines were developed and provided by the lead tertiary centre within the state, ensuring consistency with the protocols established in the PARIS 1 study,¹ which investigated the escalation of care in infants with bronchiolitis receiving either nasal high-flow therapy or standard oxygen therapy.

From the initiation of the PARIS 1 study and throughout the duration of our project, all participating centres complied with this single, consistent set of guidelines. No individual hospital introduced or followed separate guidelines during this period.
