Abstract
Takayasu arteritis is an uncommon systemic inflammatory large vessel vasculitis affecting women in their third and fourth decades frequently. The disease poses considerable morbidity and mortality owing to the involvement of the aorta and its major branches. Treatment comprises medical and vascular interventions, tailored to each patient.
