Association between 5-HT1A receptor C-1019G, 5-HTTLPR polymorphisms and panic disorder: a meta-analysis.

Articles researching the link between C-1019G, 5-HTTLPR polymorphisms, and PD were retrieved by database searching and systematically selected on the basis of selected inclusion parameters. 21 studies were included that examined the relationship of rs6295,5-HTTLPR polymorphisms with PD risk susceptibility (rs62957 polymorphism - 7 articles, and 5-HTTLPR polymorphism - 14 articles). A significant association was seen between the rs6295 polymorphism and PD pathogenesis, especially in Caucasian PD patients. No significant genetic linkage was found between the 5-HTTLPR polymorphism and PD. C-1019G polymorphism was involved in the etiology of PD in Caucasian patients.
