We use <span><math><msub><mrow><mi>P</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msub></math></span> Lagrange finite elements for <span><math><msup><mrow><mi>C</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>0</mn></mrow></msup></math></span> interior penalty methods, which require fewer degrees of freedom than <span><math><msup><mrow><mi>C</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup></math></span> finite element methods. We provide a priori error estimates and stability analyses by considering a heterogeneous permeability coefficient. Abstract

In this paper, we investigate optimal control problems in heterogeneous porous media.
