It is shown that due to electrodes screening the quasistatic electric field shear elastic wave localization occurs if the electrodes are placed non-uniformly within the unit cell of the waveguide. In a finite thickness waveguide localization takes place only at some forbidden frequencies within an infinite waveguide band gaps. Localization of waves in semi-infinite waveguide is also considered. Abstract

Electro-elastic guided waves in a supperlattice waveguide with a finite number of unit cells made of cubic piezoelectric material and subjected to coupled elastic anti-plane deformation and in-plane electric field are studied.
