Abstract
This practice paper describes a collaboration between an event staffing company, FanGate Solutions, and a researcher to analyze and improve the company's internship program. The study was guided by the Design-Based Research method, which includes three stages used in iterative fashion to create a problem-focused intervention: analysis/exploration, design/construction, and evaluation/reflection. The process involved interviews and collaborative discussions between practitioner and researcher over the course of a year and three internship cycles leading to a new intervention developed and implemented to address authentic issues specific to FanGate's internship program.
