Abstract

The first case of gynandromorphism in Euglossa chalybeata is described in this study. We document a gynander of Euglossa chalybeata exhibiting mosaic-type asymmetry. This specimen was collected using a methyl salicylate bait at the Usina Hidrelétrica de Belo Monte in Vitória do Xingú, Pará, Brazil, and was compared to a regular male of the species.
