Mangosteens, a prominent component of Garcinia mangostana, have been ex-tensively studied for their biological activities and structural modifications. Chemical methods, including cyclization reactions under acidic conditions, have yielded many de-rivatives, which often exhibit enhanced pharmacological properties compared to itself.
