Abstract

Elizabethkingia anophelis is an opportunistic pathogen that causes serious life-threatening infections. In this report, we describe a case of pulmonary infection caused by E. anophelis in a young female patient, following cardiac surgery, which was successfully treated with a combination of trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMZ) and eravacycline. Additionally, this report provides a summary of high-risk factors for E. anophelis infection, clinical manifestations, and therapeutic options.
