Abstract

For the integration of traditional terrestrial networks and non-terrestrial networks, including satellites and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), it is critical to manage interference in three-dimensional (3D) networks while establishing reliable communication links to the desired receiver. Therefore, in this letter, we consider collaborative beamforming (CB) using multiple UAVs to extend the transmission range in a 3D network. Additionally, we propose a sidelobe suppression algorithm by selecting an appropriate set of UAVs for CB. We analyze the number of trials required for UAV selection in the proposed algorithm, given a specific number of undesired receivers and transmit power.
