Abstract
Biotechnology research presents significant security challenges in Latin America. Protecting intellectual property, managing risk associated with dual-use technologies, and upholding research integrity and ethics are particularly challenging in emerging countries due to resource constraints, political instability, and regulatory shortcomings. Regional efforts are needed to foster secure research environments.
