Abstract
Corrosion presents a major threat to materials, economic stability, and environmental health, and requires the creation of effective and sustainable solutions. The rise of eco-friendly corrosion inhibitors is discussed in this review, with highlighting their ability to reduce corrosion while minimizing environmental impact. We discuss a variety of inhibitors, including biopolymers, plant extract, bio-surfactants, synthetic polymers, and ionic liquids, and their effectiveness in different industrial applications. The transition from traditional synthetic inhibitors to natural alternatives, particularly plant extracts, signifies a growing commitment to sustainability. These green inhibitors are noted for their affordability, biodegradability, and safety, offering a promising alternative to conventional corrosive agents. The review also addresses challenges such as limited solubility and performance variability, while showcasing recent advancements in formulation and synthesis. By synthesizing current research and identifying future directions, this article emphasizes the importance of eco-friendly corrosion inhibitors in promoting safer industrial practices and protecting the environment. The findings advocate for a shift towards sustainable corrosion management, paving the way for innovative solutions that meet global environmental standards.
期刊介绍:
The aim of this international journal is to analyse and publicise the progress and current state of knowledge in the field of organic coatings and related materials. The Editors and the Editorial Board members will solicit both review and research papers from academic and industrial scientists who are actively engaged in research and development or, in the case of review papers, have extensive experience in the subject to be reviewed. Unsolicited manuscripts will be accepted if they meet the journal''s requirements. The journal publishes papers dealing with such subjects as:
• Chemical, physical and technological properties of organic coatings and related materials
• Problems and methods of preparation, manufacture and application of these materials
• Performance, testing and analysis.
