Abstract
The global incidence of Cor Triatriatum ranges from 0.1% to 0.4 globally. It is a rare diagnosis, with only a few cases reported in Africa. This case report outlines the first presentation of Cor Triatriatum in a 34-year-old female previously diagnosed with post-partum cardiomyopathy. The purpose of this case report was to raise awareness about the presence of congenital heart disease in adulthood as a potential cause of heart failure. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of detailed echocardiography using advanced imaging techniques for evaluating defects and co-existing lesions.
