The results are interesting. However, some restrictions may influence the interpretation of the results.</p>\n<p>The study's methodology was descriptive. A cross-sectional study is an effective method for analysing data from a group of people over time. However, one disadvantage of this cross-period study is that it does not investigate causal linkages. It also ignores complicated influencing elements, such as the impact of the work environment on LTCFs or supervisory support. This could affect NAs' empathy levels.</p>\n<p>The Jefferson Scale of Empathy-Health Professions (JSE-HP) version of the questionnaire is an effective tool for assessing empathy among healthcare workers. However, there may still be limits in interpreting the data. This is because empathy assessments can be influenced by differences in how people express themselves and perceive empathy in the workplace.</p>\n<p>An experimental study (pilot study) or a follow-up study (longitudinal study) should be done to investigate the influence of empathy development training or support on the effectiveness of caring for older individuals in long-term care facilities. This is a response to a published article on ‘The Empathy Level and Its Associated Factors Among Nursing Assistants in Long-Term Care Facilities (Hu et al. 2025)’.
