Such analyses have led to advances in our understanding of the pathophysiology of MDD, TRD, and the mechanisms of TMS. Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) is a substantial burden for psychiatric care, affecting approximately one-third of patients with major depressive disorder (MDD).
