Abstract
Various needle styles are available for percutaneous access during central venous catheter insertion. The impact of needle gauge on the risk of mechanical complications has not been studied. Our retrospective study demonstrated no association between needle gauge and the rate of peri-procedural complications for central venous catheterisation.
