Abstract

Research on the mechanochromic luminescence of organic crystals exhibiting circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) is still developing. In their Communication (e202422913e202422913), Suguru Ito, Yoshitane Imai, and co-workers developed chiral organic molecules that exhibit CPL even in the amorphous state induced by mechanical stimuli. The picture illustrates CPL emission from stacked pyrene rings stabilized by hydrogen bonding at the amide groups.
