Abstract

A concept of a 16 : 1 combiner with a continuous-wave high-frequency 500-kW power at a frequency of 500 MHz, which is based on a WR1800 rectangular waveguide, and its 4 : 1 prototype, is discussed. The combiner operates at 32-kW continuous power supplied to each of the inputs and is equipped with a water-cooling system for the antennas. Cooling is implemented through a shorted segment of the coaxial line, and the RF power is supplied through a side line. The results of studying the characteristics and features of the 16 : 1 power combiner and its 4 : 1 prototype are presented.
