Current treatments suffer from poor bioavailability, low specificity, and significant side effects. Nanoparticle (NP)-based drug delivery systems offer promising alternatives through enhancing solubility, stability, bioavailability, controlled release and targeted delivery of drugs. Recent studies have demonstrated that NPs with various structures provide a novel approach for treating SLE, potentially reducing side effects while improving efficacy of therapeutic agents. Abstract
