Abstract
Supramolecular bowls: In their Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/chem.202404625), A.-N. Lazar, M. M. Zimnicka, O. Danylyuk and co-workers describe the host–guest conformational and structural behavior of the medicinally relevant molecules alexidine and pentamidine under macrocyclic confinement conditions in aqueous media. They show that p-sulfonato-calix[4]arene promotes conformational fixing and crystallization of these guest molecules, which are otherwise challenging to crystallize.
