Bipolar disorder is a severe mental disorder that necessitates effective long-term treatment strategies. Clinically, lithium has demonstrated favorable outcomes in managing this condition. The inflammatory theory posits that bipolar disorder is influenced by an inflammatory response, and lithium is thought to mitigate this disorder by inhibiting such responses.
