Abstract
Three cases of myofascial pain syndrome of the lateral pterygoid muscle are presented, including one case that involves syndromes of neck muscles. The pain is characteristically anterior to the ear, over the maxilla and sometimes into the temple. The syndrome is confirmed by palpation and treated by injection of the lateral pterygoid muscle.
