Reversion of either <em>thyA</em> or <em>thyB</em> mutation led to a partial recovery in the UV resistance. Abstract

Thymine auxotrophy was shown to be associated with an increase in UV sensitivity both in Bacillus subtilis and in Escherichia coli.
