甲状腺激素对生长的影响
甲状腺激素剥夺会对骨骼生长产生有害影响。骨发育迟缓是由甲状腺激素对骨的直接作用和激素对生长激素释放和IGF-1作用的间接作用介导的。TR α和TR β均在骨细胞中表达。为了研究TR β在骨骼中的作用,我们回顾了由TR β基因突变引起的人类RTH综合征的生长异常。突变体TR β降低了组织对甲状腺激素的反应性,在一些组织中产生不同程度的甲状腺激素剥夺。在骨骼方面,由TR β突变体引起的甲状腺激素相对缺乏导致身材矮小和骨骼生长延迟,但其对骨骼生长的减弱程度不及甲状腺激素绝对缺乏。这些观察结果表明,完整的TR β是正常骨发育和生长所必需的。
