Abstract

Solo practice is declining, but it remains the dominant mode for the delivery of dental health care services. The increasing number of women in the dental profession with a preference for nonsolo arrangements, together with the impact of debts by students of both sexes may accelerate a decline in the number of solo dental practices in the United States.
