Simvastatin treatment significantly decreased concentrations of vascular cell adhesion molecule and intracellular adhesion molecule after 3 and 6 months of the therapy, respectively. Thrombomodulin decreased significantly after 6 months of the treatment, whereas von Willebrand's factor, P-selectin and E-selectin remained unaltered during simvastatin therapy. Abstract

Patients undergoing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) are prone to dyslipidemia and have a high risk of cardiovascular death.
